4. VISUAL ARTS: A RESOURCE FOR UNITS 1C-1D

Due to changes in terminology for this Unit published in the Curriculum Council’s Course Visual Arts July 2009 (Updated November 2009), the focus names in the current resource should be substituted on page 9 (and later in the text on pages 17 and 231), as follows:

New Text:

The focus of Unit 1C is inspirations. You will explore ideas of Memory as an inspiration. If you are looking for more of a challenge consider Memory and Metaphor.’

The focus of Unit 1D is investigations. You will investigate community arts project ideas. Your work could be developed for use in your home, school, local council or as a prototype for a state, national or internationally sited work. If you are looking for more of a challenge consider using the Cultural Mapping process to add meaning and purpose relevant to the chosen site.’
